In this lesson we introduce you to the fundamentals of salsa. We cover the basic steps for leads and follows as well as some common mistakes to look out for.
Vocab:
Ball Change- Shifting the weight of your body from your left foot to your right foot and vice versa. You should be able to do 6 ball changes or shift your weight 6 times inone basic 8 count.
Salsa on 1/Salsa on 2/Rueda- Different styles of salsa. This mostly depends on the region you live in as to what style is more frequently danced.
Review:
1. Keep your head up
2. Keep your arms above your waste
3. Step on the balls of your feet (NOT your heels)
4. Do NOT take big steps.
5. Wear proper shoe attire (for the sake of your joints)
6. Last and most important rule is to have fun when you dance.
